This focus on our customers and a profitable future has been the foundation of Fontanelle since it originated in 1935. Just as you've seen changes and advancements in your business over the years, so has Fontanelle. We are proud to say that our dedication to our dealers, customers and employees, and to the seed industry, has remained strong over time.

In 1935 Bill Stevenson drafted a business plan for a seed company named after the town in which he was raised - Fontanelle, Nebraska. It's important to note that we've stayed committed to the founding principles Bill started:

  1. Provide customers with seed products that will help them succeed.
  2. Personally oversee the production process to insure the best quality of seed is being produced.
  3. Focus on people by providing a level of personalized service customers can trust and depend upon.

Fontanelle became a founding member of an association of regional seed companies called the CORE Group in 1996. The association was created to ensure that member companies would have continued access to new traits and top genetics as a way to plan for the future.

In 2005 Fontanelle again took steps to ensure a successful future by becoming part of American Seeds, Inc. (ASI), a holding company formed by Monsanto Company to support regional seed businesses with capital, genetics and technology investments. Fontanelle remains an independent operating company within ASI, maintaining our unique culture. Customers can rest assured they will continue to work with the same trusted teams of people and the same brand that have helped them flourish.

As part of becoming an independent operating company, the production services of Fontanelle formed a company called Nebraska Irrigated Seeds (NIS). Our seed is still produced by the same people our customers have always trusted.

Fontanelle remains committed to our local farmer dealers. Having a Fontanelle representative from your local area doing what you do, and understanding what you need in products and services is what drives our company and helps you stay successful
