Fontanelle
Making the difference for you
I started selling Fontanelle seed three years ago and Fontanelle’s products fit very well in my mostly dryland area. With Eric Wasenius as a new District Sales Manager and with the new technology coming down the pipeline, I feel that Fontanelle will give me the best tools to give my customers the best chance to improve their farming practices.
I met District Sales Manager Jason Skalsky through the FFA at North Loup Scotia High School when he introduced the Sneak Preview to our Chapter. It’s is great to have Fontanelle in the area and I’m proud to be a part of it.
My District Sales Manager Glenn Larson, is very knowledgeable about Fontanelle products and is always available to answer any questions I may have, or direct me to sources that can help me in my business. Fontanelle Hybrids has the traits, yield and personnel to make a successful winning team, along with their vision of the future. It is these characteristics that encourage me to be part of this team.
The new technology that Fontanelle is coming out with is amazing. This new technology is definitely going to increase profits on our farm.
District Sales Manager Stan Hansen has been very helpful to me in starting my dealership. I appreciate that he is always willing to get seed to me as soon as I need it. I like the variety of products that Fontanelle has to offer.
I'm a fuel manager for our local COOP and sell Fontanelle for a second income. Working with my DSM Kurt Wilson is enjoyable and he is always just a phone call away. I enjoy selling Fontanelle's technology and the direction we are going.
I use traited products because they give me the best chance to get the highest return for my money. I like my DSM David Kinnison because he helps place the right varieties in the right places. I like working with Fontanelle because I enjoy the people and I learn something from them every time we meet.
My DSM David Kinnison is always ready to help. He knows the products and how to place them. Fontanelle is also the only company I know of where you can talk to any person in the company and their names and numbers are listed in the seed guide.
Fontanelle is a top notch company with great people and great products. Fontanelle is out in front with our new products and technology. The Company really respects its customers.
I started selling Fontanelle as a farm marketer for Cargill. We have several brands, but RSM Ron Gardner and DSM Eric Wasenius go above and beyond to get me the products and information that I need for a diversified area.
As a large retailer, we sell several lines of seed. I like working with Fontanelle because of a more personal touch that they bring with them. We get more contact with the people who are selecting the future products. They are asking us as dealers what we need. You don't get that contact and concern from the larger seed companies. All summed up, Fontanelle is very easy to work with.
I know I have a good working relationship with my DSM David Kinnison. He is knowledgeable on programs and products. He is always willing to help with a sale or even setting up for a fair.
When I started with Fontanelle, I had never sold corn before. Fontanelle has treated me with respect, knowledge, information and instruction. It is nice to be a part of a close family.
Fontanelle is a great company with good people and great products.
I switched my farm to Fontanelle Hybrids 5 or 6 years ago and have never regretted doing so. I appreciated the one-on-one service and family business style that I found all the way up to the owners and executives. As technology and traits have changed, the personal style of doing business has not. I have access to the best traits and genetics available, while maintaining close personal relationships with the same people I met at the beginning. This is what I value most about doing all of my business with Fontanelle.
I like to work with my DSM Dave Kinnison. Fontanelle has a good product line up and a nice team of people to work with.
Now with Fontanelle's association with Monsanto, they can bring the newest technologies to us in a very rapid manner. Fontanelle has been very progressive over the years. Just the leadership and foresight of the people that run and manage Fontanelle has just been phenomenal and got them where they are today.
Even though Fontanelle's ownership has changed, they are still the same company. They still have the local philosophy. When you call the main office, they will get you an answer. I really appreciate that. They have just picked up the benefits of being involved with Monsanto. The speed of new products and technologies is a huge benefit of being involved with Monsanto. As soon as they enter the lineup, we have access to them with Fontanelle. We now even know what is coming 2-3 years down the pipeline.
From the people in the warehouse right on up to President Steve Pike, there is high integrity and concern for customers. If something is wrong, there is somebody who addresses the problem. Fontanelle is part of the community and that is one thing that I like. I also like the product flow. I am just very confident about the products I can get from Fontanelle. When you can work with good people and get good products, you might as well stick with a proven thing.
Hal Heybrock has been the only Fontanelle DSM I have ever worked with. He has a very good knowledge of the products. He lives 20 miles away from me, so he understands our part of the world including the weather and insect problems he lives with everyday. He is there for me and is a part of the community and I am very comfortable working with him. I not only consider Hal my DSM, but I consider him my friend. He comes over in the winter and we look at plot books. He recommends products to me for my soil. With products moving off our farm so fast, I can't know the numbers. Hal is the eyes and ears for me. He sees hundreds of test plots and has access to information. He is able to warn me about any stresses and consistencies in products. He takes all of the numbers and brings me the information I need.
As far as products go, we are 100% RR soybeans with a lot of Roundup Ready® corn. In the River Bottom where I live, I have a lot of weed pressure. With the Roundup Ready® technology, it means ease and crop safety and seeing miles of clean beans. It just works.
We are just beginning to plant Fontanelle products and they look really good. We will know more at harvest. We are excited about the technology and Fontanelle's position in it. The people are really good to work with from having the same truck driver every time to our DSM Kurt Wilson and RSM Ron Gardner. They are willing to take the next step to help out.
We have always believed in early planting for optimum yields and drydown at harvest time. In the spring, we are also pressed for time so we start planting on the 10th of April. This year, after trying to a few Dominator corn hybrids through Fontanelle's 2x3 program, we noticed that Fontanelle (all three hybrids) emerged faster than our other seed supplier's corn and was very even at the beginning of the growing season. We believe this to be very important. Fontanelle's corn got off to a great start and Fontanelle fits our farming practices.
This is our first year of using the triple stacked hybrids. The flexibility in our herbicide program has been great and so far the corn looks great. We are excited about the upcoming harvest. Fontanelle has a wide variety of products to choose from. Our DSM Glenn Larson has been great to work with and always replies to questions in a very prompt manner. I believe Fontanelle is a very up and coming company.
I use triple stack corn because it gives me more security knowing that I'll have good control of the corn borer and rootworms. That means I'll have a yield increase over the standard conventional products. Money is in the bank!
I use triple stack hybrids for the security of knowing all the protection is right in the seed.
Fontanelle has good products. I use triple stack varieties because they bring better yields and dry down. My DSM Stan Hansen is there to help me with sales and field days. Fontanelle's corn and beans are super and they have good customer acceptance.
With the Roundup Ready® technology, the plant is treated throughout the growing season, and it is always in the root system. Plus the corn borer technology works, and it has been proven. The seed can seem expensive, but there is so much in the bag, and it is a benefit. People just need to try it for themselves.
I use traited products on my farm because of the value that they add to my farm. Glenn Larson is a great DSM. If I have any questions, he will have an answer or find out and will get right back to me. He is always very helpful.
In our fields, Fontanelle Hybrids certainly appears to be on the cutting edge of varieties that will work in the High Plains region, as well as the Central Plains. If the combine tells me what I think it will, I will be 100% Fontanelle next season.
I have been working with Fontanelle since 1999-2000. During that time I've noticed that the milo has improved in the last seven years.
I like Fontanelle's beans because they don't shatter as badly and they yield just as good as any other variety I have planted. The pods are farther off the ground and they are easier to combine. I also do not see the green stems on the beans.
DSMs Brett Burenheide and Chris Ross are friendly and nice. Chris has been very accommodating for me. In fact, all of Fontanelle's people are very friendly.
